Meeting Santa this Weekend!

Hello All! Hope you are all getting your shop on this Black Friday!
We'll be heading out to see Santa this weekend for some family pics and I know just what I'll be asking for.
The top things on my wishlist for this season, are some much needed accessories. While I cannot take advantage of the Black Friday sales I am doing some damage through some of the online sales that are taking place. I am already halfway through my top items and will be styling a 'gold is glam' look for the holidays (Or as my little girl would say "Stylishing!"). Check out my top 10 picks below...

Happy American Thanksgiving to all our friends and family south of us! It's been lovely to read all the warm wishes and the inspiring messages on the many blogs I follow and all the status updates on the social networking sites.

With the holiday spirit surrounding us I can't help but dream of warm and inviting decor ideas for the home.  My absolute fave and a possible DIY this season is this 'holiday' subway sign with a heartwarming message.

Holiday wreaths are a great way to spruce up your space both indoors and outdoors.

This Pier 1 Peacock Feather wreath was a personal favourite of mine for this past year!

I just adore this Parisian themed table setting by designer Toby Fairley. I love the bistro feel for this holiday Breakfast nook.

A must have for holiday decor is of course the Christmas Tree! These are some fabulous scenes...

Here's a very interesting alternative to a traditional Christmas tree...

These creative and simple wrapping paper ideas would look great under the tree and around the home...

Hope you found these ideas helpful! Merry Decorating!

Peek into my portfolio

I have been working on my portfolio for some time now. Since I have nothing posted online yet, I thought what better place than to sneak a peek through my blog.

Enjoy!

My obsession with round mirrors and  book shelves is obvious.

'Little Miss' Personality

My hubby and I are currently in the process of building a home for ourselves and I am uber excited about doing my little girl's room! I love love love the idea of mini grown-up rooms!  While I'm usually drawn to soft colours with that hint of glam, I think a dose of bold colour is truly representative of the little diva I'm raising.

Can you ever go too bright or bold in a kid's room?

Check out these inspiration pics...

This room is sure to put a smile on your face and shouts fun and fanciful!

I am so tempted to draw from this black tie nursery with that soft lavender and pink.

This PB Kids Nursery is an absoloute delight!

This blue green eclectic shared space for two is perfect for those sleep overs.

This built in with upholstered headboard is an adorable space for that transition from 'little tot' to 'little miss'. This one definitely takes the cake!

I often browse through the design sections in bookstores to get inspiration from other designers and am amazed with how much kid's rooms have changed and how much personality can be infused into them based on the little people in our lives.

These books are a good read to learn more about how these little guys and dolls live....

Hope this was an enjoyable read and why not reach for that kid in you today!

My latest project involves addressing a headboard wall with a window above it. What do you think? Is the best option to hide the window, give it the feel of a much wider or larger window than it is or do we simply let it be. Here are some great inspiration and resources for some treatments and decor ideas.

I simply love the layered drapery behind this headboard.

A canopy for a headboard is a great way to disguise an unwanted window

While the shutters dress up the window it is also helpful to add elements on either side of the bed to distract from the window behind the headboard.

This uphostered paneling is a great solution, bearing in mind that you are not blocking off windows which are in street view for your home.

Please feel free to share some of your great ideas or projects for a window above the bed.
Until tomorrow!
