Shedding some fabulous light on the subject

I am so happy to be back and active on the bloggosphere. I've been MIA for about 9 months now and while this is usually about the amount of time it takes to bring a baby into this world, I on the other hand, have been busy raising two over this period.

These past few months have brought many changes, including moving cities, setting up shop and establishing new relationships with new clients. I am thrilled to be back for the holidays in my home town.

Lately, I've been sourcing some light fixtures and as always, I tend to get carried away with my research when it comes to pendants and chandeliers. Here are some fabulous breath taking luminaires!

My personal fave... No. 6! Will find a spot for these fabulous pendants in our new space!

What are some of your favourite light fixtures and why? Please share.

Hope this lights up your day!

Visualising your space

Over the last couple months I've been working on a couple different projects which have involved helping my clients visualise their space as being different from their existing decor, design etc.
These conceptual drawings go a long way when magazines, fabric and paint swatches just aren't enough. Here's some of my latest work...

What helps you make decisions on your decorating ideas? How do you reach people with your ideas?

On another note, the guilt of not being able to make it to the gym due to caring for my 1 month old and my very active toddler has manifested into humorous resentment for those who have the time to.....

Happy Tuesday Everyone! Let those creative juices flow!

Amusing Monday Morning Read

While catching up on all that I missed on Houzz over the last month, I came across a really amusing and clever post by Architect Jody Brown. Pairing personalities with their architectural styles, these images were a fun read.

'Find your Architechtural Style'.......

Bungalow Style exterior

Vernacular Style exterior

Cape Cod Style exterior

Hamptons Style exterior

Mid Century Modern Style exterior

Italianate Style exterior

Greek Revival Style exterior

Soho Loft Style exterior

Odd thing is that I would have liked to be in the Hampton's category when I was in my twenties and now that I'm older and into my thirties, I would love to be part of the Soho loft category (without wanting to date Kanye of course LOL).

Happy Monday everyone!

Oh Joy! It's a Boy!

My family and I have been blessed with a beautiful baby boy. His big sister couldn't be prouder and I am frantically planning the baby's nursery now that we know the sex.

Back in January I posted some lively and vibrant pix for a little girls room. All ideas for our little miss Diva in the making (aren't they all at 4 ?).

Now for a baby boy's nursery,  I'm looking for a sophisticated 'cool boy' nursery but still with that element of fun!

Here are some images I'm using to put together some of my ideas:

Erika Ward - Erika Ward Interiors modern kids

Feathered Nest Interiors, LLC contemporary kids
shabby nest traditional kids

These multi-bands and stipes are a really fun way of adding life and colour to the nursery.
Even a wide single band can bring in a more sophisticated feel to the room.

This 'Cool' Camouflage wall sets of the gray and white room
Kids Room contemporary kids

I absoloutely love this red and blue theme and what a great blue it is!
Argyle Bedroom contemporary kids

Fun with Argyle.... why not? Oh so Preppy!

Happy Decorating...
